Anita du Toit has more than 20 years of franchising consulting experience in both commercial and social franchising. She is an authority on social franchising with extensive expertise and papers published on the subject. Anita worked as a franchise consultant in the commercial sector (including Deloitte SA) and a franchise specialist at First National Bank in South Africa. She founded her own consulting firm, Franchise Fundi, in 2020.
Anita has participated in social franchising projects in various sectors, including primary health care, education, internet connectivity and engagement for poor communities, Early Childhood Development (ECD), social advocacy, child nutrition, and micro franchising in agriculture, tourism, renewable energy and newspaper distribution. She was the lead consultant on a social franchise accelerator project that trained ten organisations and mentored four of these organisations to scale through social franchising.
Her publications include chapters in Social Franchising (edited by Ilan Alon) and the Handbook of Research on Franchising (edited by Frank Hoy, Rozenn Perigot and Andrew Terry). Anita holds an MCom Masters degree in Marketing Management (Cum Laude) from the University of Pretoria.
Anita started collaborating with Stage Six in 2021 as Associate Franchise Advisor.
